2011 CENLA TELETHON

The CENLA telethon will be held on Saturday, August 20 from Noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, August 21, Noon to 5 p.m. televised live on KLAX-Channel 31 from the Best Western Convention Center, 2720 N. MacArthur Dr., Alexandria, LA

Our Telethon Representative this year is 2 year old, Jesse Henderson, grandson of Karen and Kenneth Dauzat of Marksville, LA























Jesse is 2 years old, loves his school, play with his toys and his cat.

Mr. Edward Lavardain will be serving as our Honorary Chairperson this year.  Mr. Larvadain was elected to the Alexandria City Council in 2008 from District 1. He is currently Vice -President of the Alexandria City Council and Chairman of the Finance and Economic Development Committees. He has formerly chaired the Legal  and Community Development Committees.  

He is currently an attorney in private practice, concentrating in the areas of Family Law and Personal Injury Law. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Alexandria Bar Association and Louis A. Martinent Legal Society. He is the past president of the Arts Council of Central Louisiana and a member of the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. He volunteers countless hours in his assisting organizations and nonprofits in the community.  

He is married to Cynthia H. Larvadain, a school teacher in Rapides Parish.

Mr. Lavardain has supported CENLA CP of LA telethons for the last several years and we are honored to have him serve in this huge capacity.

We are very excited about the telethon this year and we look forward to seeing some old friends from the CENLA and hope to make some new ones as well.  Come out to the Convention Center, watch us in action, have some food, listen to some live music and see where your dollars go.  Drop $25 in the fishbowl and receive a T-Shirt!
